HH PRINCESS DATO' SERI (DR)  ROMONA MURAD

Her Highness Princess Dato’ Seri Dr Romona Murad (SSAS, DSMP, DMP, SMP, MIPR), a Malaysian, is the Founder and President of Romona International Sdn Bhd (Romona International) and  Romona Consultancy and Management, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

Currently, she is holding the position as Country President - Malaysia for the Economic Council of India. She is also the Chairperson for the Royal Society Group Malaysia which is under the Royal Society Group World based in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia.  She is also a Member of the Patron for the Euro Asia Financial Policy Forum (EAFPF) based in Italy.

HH Princess was appointed as the Chairperson for the International Commission for Malaysia by the International Organization for Peace and International Security to Activate International Humanitarian Law for Peace (IOPSH) effective March 2020. HH Princess was also appointed as a Member of the International Forum to Support the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations effective 7th April 2020.

Her Highness is a Vice Permanent Representative of the NGO, Aider-Donner-Nourrir (ADN) in Malaysia. Her Highness also holds position as Honorary President for Malaysia for Rockfield College of Sciences & Technology, Zurich, Switzerland.

 

Besides these positions, Her Highness is also an Ambassador for Triton Solar, a solar company which is based in New Jersey, USA.  In addition, Her Highness holds position as a United Refugee Green Council Ambassador & Spokes Person on Housing, Education, Health & Socio-Economic Issues of Refugees in Malaysia effective 2014. 

 

Her Highness  was also appointed as RSG Commissioner for Heraldry and Sovereignty to Malaysia by the Royal Society Group on 8 February 2014. Not to mention, Her Highness Princess was appointed as Delegate to Malaysia by the Royal Society Group World as official representative to which the Royal Society Group and its affiliates conduct its foreign affairs on 5th January 2014.

Her Highness Princess was appointed to hold position as Asia President for Chamber of Inter Commerce under the International Royal Academy of United Nation (IRAOUN) based in New York, USA. She was also Asia Executive Vice President for International Royal Academy of the United Nations. Her Highness Princess Dato’ Seri Dr Romona  Murad is the first woman from Asia to hold senior position with the International Royal Academy of the United Nations. She is well–linked with networks all over the world.

Her Highness is actively involved with many non-profit organizations including Fight Cancer Global, based in the USA. Her Highness Princess is the Executive Board Member for Fight Cancer Global.

Her Highness Princess was an awardee of Top Women Icon Global 2020 by the Global Academy for Human Excellence (GAHE) in Manila, the Philippines on 8th March 2020 for her outstanding and exemplary performances, unwavering support and selfless commitment in rendering humanitarian services. GAHE recognizes Her Highness’s contribution in promoting peace, love and human rights protections worldwide.

Her Highness Princess was appointed as an Ambassador of Peace with Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD) based in Islamabad, Pakistan on 25th June 2020.

Her Highness Princess was a recipient of the 2019 Africa Advancement Award under the category “Award for Humanity and Peace Advocacy” on 31st October 2019 in London, UK.

 

Her Highness Princess was also a  recipient of the “Grand Order of the Noble Hand of Honor” from PALEDEC in Accra, Ghana on 7th September 2019.

 

In 2014, Her Highness Princess was nominated as one of the “Most Influential Person in the World” in the area of peace and humanity by the International Council for Human Rights, Arbitration, Politics and Strategic Studies (ICHAPS) which is under the United Nations.

Her Highness Princess was conferred the title Dame Commander - Cross of Merit by the Brasileira Society of Philosophy and Literature Teaching, Brazil and Commander-The Order Royal and Sovereign of the Arameans Lion King of Judah by HRH Prince Ydenir Prudenciano III Machado of Brazil. She is also the Honorable Council Member - Grand Order of the Council Honor of the Royal Society Dignitaries and Honorable Priority Members. Her Highness Princess also received the Sultan Special Award from His Royal Highness Sultan Ali A. Umpa, Royal House of Kapatangan, Sulu, the Philippines.

 

Currently she is an Honorary Member of World Organizer of Martial Arts, USA. Not to mention, Her Highness Princess is also a  VAL Honorary Member and Malaysia Ambassador for VAL, Slovenia. She is also an Honorary Member of the International Royal Academy of the United Nations.

Her Highness Princess was conferred Darjah Seri Setia Sultan Arif Shah, First Class (SSAS) from the Sultan of Inderagiri, Indonesia on 10 December 2014 which carries the title Dato’ Seri. She was conferred Darjah Setia Mahkota Pakoe Buwono (DSMP) from the Sultan of Surakarta, Solo, Indonesia in 2010 which carries the title Dato’. In 2009, she was conferred Darjah Mahkota Pakoe Buwono (DMP) which carries the title Datuk from the Sultan of Surakarta. And in 2008 she was conferred a medal, Setia Mangku Pakoe Buwono (SMP) also from the Sultan of Surakarta.

Her Highness Princess  has vast experience in Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, Promotions and Event Management. Her Highness is a member of the Institute Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM). She has with her more than 25 years experience in the corporate world. Among the companies that she was attached to were The Melewar Corporation, the Land and General, Amanah Raya Berhad, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, DiGi Telecommunications and Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (SYABAS), all in Malaysia. She is also actively involved with NGOs activities in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and other countries in Asia.

Her Highness received an Honorary Doctorate, Dra H.C. for outstanding literary, scientific and social work and in spreading the culture of love and peace - from the Syrian Medical Group in August 2020. She also received an Honorary Doctorate, Dra. H.C. in Human Rights and Preservation of the Environment in Asia from the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Lutheran Institute in October 2019. She also received an Honorary Doctorate, Dra H.C. in Fine Arts and Management from the International Royal Academy of United Nations in 2011. She holds an MBA in Communications and Media from Berkeley International University, USA in 2007 and  a BA in Political Science (concentration in Business Administration and English) from the University of Texas, Arlington USA in 1990.Her Highness attended the University of Texas, Arlington from 1987 - 1990 and Her Highness was a Recipient for Outstanding International Student Leader for 1990 and a Charter Member for the UTA Student Foundation 1990.

HER CONNECTION TO THE SULTAN OF SURAKARTA, INDONESIA:

Her Highness Princess Dato' Seri  Dr Romona Murad is  a member of the Dato'-Dato' Karaton Surakarta Hadinigrat, Malaysia. This organization is a closed group for all the relatives and members of the Royal House of Surakarta, Indonesia. The Karaton Surakarta Handingrat is a body directly under SAMPEJANDALEM HINGKANG SINOEHOEN KANDJENG SINOEHOEN PAKOE BOEWONO XIII (KGPH HANGABEHI), the Sultan of Surakarta, Indonesia. Her Highness Princess Dato' Seri  Dr Romona came from the lineage of Sultan Panembahan Senopati, the first Sultan of Mataram and Majapahit, where from him came down to the Sultans and Sinuhuns of Mataram Majapahit including Sultan Agung, Sultan Hamengkubuwono of Yogyakarta  dan also Sultan Pakoe Buwono of Surakarta, Indonesia.

HER CONNECTION TO THE ROYAL FAMILY OF KEDAH, MALAYSIA:

Her Highness Princess Dato' Seri Dr Romona Murad is connected to the Sultan of Kedah, Malaysia through her grandmother, HH Tengku Hajar  binti Tengku Muhammad Riau. Tengku Muhammad Riau bin Tengku Meh is the brother to Tengku Baharudin Tengku Meh, The Rajah of Setol.  Her Highness Princess Dato' Seri Dr Romona Murad's family  came from  the lineage of the Rajah of Setol (now known as Satun), which is also related to the Sultanate of Kedah.

The Kingdom of Setol, officially the Kingdom of Setol Mambang Segara (Malay: Kerajaan Setol Mambang Segara; Jawi:نڬري ستول ممبڠ سڬارا; Thai: เมืองสตูล; RTGS: Muang Satun was a traditional Malay kingdom founded in the northern coast of Malay Peninsular. The state was established in 1808 in wake of the partition between the rulers in the Royal House of Kedah. The partition witnessed the territory being seceded to the cadet branch of the royal family. The sovereignty of the kingdom effectively ended in 1916, following the dissolution by the Siamese government. Her borders was largely inherited to her successive province, the present-day Satun, Thailand.

A BRIEF BACKGROUND ON HER HIGHNESS PRINCESS DATO' SERI DR ROMONA MURAD'S ANCESTORS:

 

Her Highness Princess Dato' Seri  Dr. Romona's father came from the lineage of Alexander the Great (Sultan Iskandar Dzulqarnain) through his son, Sultan Iskandar Shah Alam. Sultan Iskandar Dzulqarnain came from the lineage of Prophet Abraham through his son, Prophet Isaac. And the son of Prophet Isaac named Al-Aisyh (Esau) brought down the descendants to Sultan Iskandar Dzulqarnain (Alexander the Great). Her ancestors were descendants from the Greek Empire (Macedonia) and came down to the Sultans in Persia, Maulana Sheikhs and Sheikhs. Her lineage moved from Macedonia to Persia, Yemen (Hadramaut), India, Indonesia, Siam and lastly Kedah, in Malaysia. Her great grandfather was Sheikh Muhammad Maarof, the Chief Kadhi in Bangkok, Thailand in 1887M and her grandmother, Tengku Hajar Tengku Muhammad Riau was a Princess from the Royal House of Setul (now known as Satun) in Thailand.  Her father was related to Tengku Baharudin Tengku Meh (Ku Din Ku Meh), the Prince from Kedah who then became the Rajah of Setul (now known as Satun).

Her Highness's  family still has in their possession the family tree that shows their lineage back to Sultan Iskandar Dzulqarnain. A copy of the family tree is also kept at the HERALDIQUE & GENEALOGIE Institute, Paris, France.
